yes, it is... the community is free to route around what it perceives to be
problems... there have been decisions made in other projects that not
everybody agreed on, and those that didn't agree worked on addressing that..
gcc/egcs, emacs/xemacs, KDE/GNOME all come to mind.

on the kde-debian list, we're making great headway at a very impressive pace
writing code, putting packages together, and defining exactly how we will
interface with "User Linux"-the-product. that's the linux community and how
it works: not by requiring everyone to be in agreement, but by everyone
having the freedom to make a statement with their efforts.

to wit, if kde-debian accomplishes everything it sets out to do, Bruce's
decision to leave KDE out of User Linux will not matter.
