Any advises on how to implement structured text editing in Lokalize?

Right now Lokalize uses std qtextedit widget with qsyntaxhighlighter -- and this is \
enough for gettext. I'd like to implement XLIFF inline elements handling (I use \
qdomdocument to parse xml). This is specification: \
http://docs.oasis-open.org/xliff/v1.2/os/xliff-core.html#Struct_InLine

The first solution I see is mad-hacking with QTextCursor::insertImage and \
qsvgrenderer, creating character maps to <source>/<target> children.

I'm interested in your opinion on this. Maybe i could reuse koffice/flake code, or \
even use it's libraries directly? _______________________________________________
