Yes so did a few other people, but trust me, that filter had many many problems,
and was lacking a lot of stuff that the new filter does already (most character
and paragraph properties). However it did some things (like tables, pictures
and emmbedded objects) that the new filter doesn't do _yet_. We'll come
around doing that, this is only an early announcement.

If you're concerned about cyrillic characters, I suspect this works just fine
(since we tested other non-latin1 stuff like hebrew), but feel free to send
one or two test documents to werner ;)

Not yet, but that will hopefully come later (hmm, when Werner has finished
his studies? - joking ;))

The filter already uses stuff (from kofficecore, and kword features, but that's
a smaller problem) that wasn't in koffice-1.2. And it changes everyday.
It's not ready for being RPMized yet, imho.
