| Hello,

| KDE2.1.1 failed to start on my system using startx. The

| Config:
|
| Matrox G450
| Debian 2.2r2
| XF4.0.3 with Matrox latest driver all built from source.
| QT 2.3.0 (binary)
| KDElibs3 (binary)
| KDEbase (binary)
|
| plus in order to install KDElibs3, dependency force me
| to install
|
| libssl096
| (which in turns require)
| libc6 v2.2.2.4
| libdb2 v2.7.7.7
|
| for safety reason, i rebuilt my XF4.0.3 with libc6-dev v2.2.2.4
|
| then I tried to start X with just twm as window manager.
| it works!
|
| then i modified my .xinitrc to replace lines of starting twm
| with 'startkde'.
|
| startx ->
| the screen blinks (like trying to get the correct 'sync')
| and X killed itself and back to console prompt.
|
| I checked the /var/log/XFree86.0.log on both the good run (with twm)
| and the bad run (startkde). They almost matches with no difference.
|
| I wonder where can I get more information (hidden log files??)
| anywhere to help me debug this problem??
|
| thanks
