I fully support Ctrl+T for opening tabs by default (but not for konsole, it is
a very special app). However, kopete *must not* send the message on Enter by
default, otherwise one could never insert line breaks in kopete.

Leaves only the problem how not to annoy the people who have become accustomed
to Ctrl+T opening the konsole.
