Yes, those are alternative implementations of the (relatively) libkdnssd.
You can either have
mDNSResponder or avahi-compat-libdns_sd (not both) installed
kdelibs-libkdnssd or kdnssd-avahi (not both) installed.
kdelibs-libkdnssd includes the kde-default mDNSResponder backend for
libkdnssd
kdnssd-avahi includes the alternative avahi-backend of libkdnssd

Message: 2
Hi,
I'm trying to update to using your KDE in FC6, but with your repo enabled,
running 'yum upgrade' just throws me a ton of errors like:
file /usr/share/servicetypes/kopeteui.desktop from install of
kdenetwork-3.5.5-1.fc6 conflicts with file from package
kdenetwork-3.5.4-4.fc6
file /usr/share/services/designerthumbnail.desktop from install of
kdesdk-3.5.5-0.2.fc6 conflicts with file from package kdesdk-3.5.4-2.fc6
file /usr/share/apps/quanta/doc/php/function.strftime.html from install of
kdewebdev-3.5.5-1.0.fc6 conflicts with file from package
kdewebdev-3.5.4-2.fc6
Several for atleast nearly every one of the packages it would update. I've
also uploaded the full error output to
http://tuli.cc.lut.fi/~thietan1/yum.log .
What am I doing wrong here?

Hi Rex
I finally made the jump from i386 to x86_64 bit computing. I've almost cleaned
up the leftovers but there is one that I'm pretty sure I will not be able to
figure out how to fix.
Regarding kde, when I run apt-get dist-upgrade I get
kdesdk: Depends: perl(DCOP) but it is not installable
I'm pretty sure that this is supposed to come from kdebinds-dcopperl (or
something like that).
Thanks as usual for your help.

Long story short: (loooong breath)
KDERH's RPMs was the same as -extras' and were removed.
-extras' Amarok x86_64 RPM was using the GStreamer 0.10 library as its
backbone.
(Xine is forbidden item in -extras; Helix doesn't build on x86_64)
Sadly enough, GStreamer dev's wrote an angry email to Fedora devs asking
them to stop using GStreamer as the Amarok/x86_64 backbone which in
turn, caused Amarok/x86_64 to be removed from -extras. (No backbones
left)
Work is underway to break the Xine RPM into allowed/forbidden RPMs
in-order to get it into -extras'.
If you need a working SRPM (and/or working FC5 RPM), I can email it to
you.

I appreciate the info. I would not mind being sent the working FC5 rpms. Any

The x86_64 build task is back in Rex' trust mock-farm.
Send a message to -devel?
