Just to state this clearly as I think you may have misunderstood it. "Plasma" 
is not the "new" brand for the old meaning of KDE (K Desktop Environment). 
"Plasma" is the brand for the current workspaces (Desktop, Active, Netbook, 
Mediacenter, etc.) done by KDE (the community).

There are still the libraries done by KDE (in the 4 version called "KDE 
Platform") and the KDE applications like Kate, Dolphin, etc.

Just to be sure the meaning is clear.

Misunderstanding. Plasma is "just" the KDE workspaces, not the KDE apps or KDE 
Frameworks 5.

Of course that may be. That Plasma workspaces work on different devices. And 
it's already the case with Plasma Desktop, Netbook, Active and Co.

And thank you for enjoying our software and tell us that it's still not 100% 
clear what Plasma, KDE and Co mean.
