Hi,

I'd suppose that KMail should sum up the number of eMails in a directory and 
its subdirectories when the folder is shown closed.

Example: My eMails are organised in folders where one is named "Jahrgang" 
containing eMails from my schoolmates. When it's closed, KMail shows that it 
contains 172 eMails (what is correct for itself). Adding the subfolders in 
"Jahrgang" it makes approx. 600 eMails.
