This happens only occassionally and I don't know how to
reproduce it consistently.

After a period of inactivity (so screen saver will have come on
and monitor will have shut down) when I move the mouse to
bring back the desktop the panel is no longer there (probably
neither is the taskbar--but I am not certain of this) and there
seems to be no way to get it back other than logging out
of kde and then 'startx'.

This is not a very serious problem but it does make kde look a
bit amateurish.

I am using RH 5.1, kernel 2.0.36
