Oh my, no I did not mean that. Strange idea indeed. ;-)
The HTML code I type must not be saved to a file, only in the database. The
only file that exists on my webserver is index.php. All the rest is dynamic.
So I can still type the code in Quanta, but Quanta can't *save* the code
where I want to. That makes Quanta much more awkward to use.
At the moment, when I want add or update data to the database, I either use
mysql shell (which means opening a SSH session on the server), of phpMyAdmin.

I thank you for your suggestions, they seem to be a good idea. But I'm not
sure I'm competent enough to do that. I've never done any KDE or DCOP
programming, and I'm still in the process of learning PHP and MySQL, not to
mention designing my site.

That looks extremely complicated... Isn't it possible to make direct calls
to MySQL, for example through small PHP scripts, or by establishing a direct
connexion to the server through the network? In any case, having a local copy
of the whole database is really inconvenient, because it means a lot of
manual work (dumping the database on the server, downloading it, etc) every
time you start working on the site.

I don't know where to start... As I said, that's probably too big for me.
But when my site is designed, I'll try to have a look at that anyway.
  Regards,
