The problem is most likely in the document settings. If the pre-existing 
documents were created before the en_GB dictionary was installed, the 
spell-checker will take the language setting from the document, probably US, 
and decide that, as it can't find the US dictionary, there isn't one 
available. The result is that *all* words are flagged as wrong, simply 
because "it isn't in the dictionary".

You will need to do a couple of things. First, go to Open the stylist (in the 
default template) and select the Default style. Right click, and select 
Modify. Go to the Fonts tab and look at the "Language" drop-down. Select 
English (GB), and OK. Save the document as a template 
(File-->Templates-->Save), then if necessary set it as the default 
(File-->Templates-->Organize, select the new template, Commands-->Set as 
default). That will take care of all new documents.

For the pre-existing documents, Simply do the modification to the default 
style. That should change the setting in all other styles based on "Default".

This *should* fix it for you.
