Hi,
I have installed KDE 3.1 using the current snapshot and packages
for an i386 pc. Things look great and seem more stable than some
previous versions of KDE that I have used under OpenBSD.

I have gotten brave and wanted to get the standard audio features
working. I can hear the standard sounds on startup/shutdown but
the standard CD player (KsCD) does not work. I can play ripped
music files using Kaboodle and Noatun. Anyone else having this
problem? Do you need to adjust the permissions on the /dev/cd*
devices in order for any user to use these applications?

Any hints on getting the audio features working would be greatly
appreciated. Also, the KAudioCreator application is looking to use
the lame or oggenc encoders. Should there be a dependancy on the
KDE multimedia package for the lame or vorbis tools package?

Thanks
Mike Siers
