I put together a page on the main Moblin.org site with some of my ideas
- see
http://www.moblin.org/moblin-applications.php and look for the section
at the bottom of the page titled "Developing Applications for Moblin"

Hopefully some of these ideas will jump start your own thinking and you
can come up with even more exciting ideas.

I think these are all great ideas, especially integrating with the
popular photo sharing sites.

My only caution is to balance cool features with ease of use. We expect
MID users to be relatively novice users so you need to make sure it is
very obvious how to perform the most common tasks they will want to
perform.

The practical problem you will face is that we do not currently have a
driver for the camera on the Samsung Q1 Ultra so it will be hard to test
your code on a real device. I hope that when the new platforms based on
the Intel Centrino Atom technology (formerly codenamed Menlow) start
shipping soon we will have more driver support including a camera
driver.

I like this idea. One of the things that disappointed me on the
original Apple iPhone was the lack of built-in games. Using your MID to
play games during down time is a great way to use it. Adding the
multiplayer aspect would be a nice touch and help distinguish it from a
simpler phone that might only have cellular capability.

You might also want to think about using 3D graphics in your game. The
system controller hub in the Intel Centrino Atom platform has hardware
accelerated 3D graphics that can be accessed using OpenGL. This is
another advanced feature that can help show off the power of the Intel
Centrino Atom platform.

One other thing we are trying to encourage is applications that are of
interest to users in local geographies around the world as well as those
that will appeal to people regardless of their location. Any ideas you
have that would have special interest to MID users in India are strongly
encouraged for the YourMove India contest.
