I've never had a problem with my ASUS CUV4X-D with a default redhat install
it came up in dual processor mode with no problems. I have no ide devices
and I dibabled all ide stuff in my bios.
I would think that if auto selecting ide devices shouldn't cause an
interrupt distribution || clock timing problem. Doesn't sound like the two
are even vaguely related, but if someone with IDE devices sets it that way
and it works, I'd be interested myself.
