Summary: Tries to access recent files during launch
           Product: kate
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: kwrite
        AssignedTo: kwrite-devel@kde.org
        ReportedBy: pierre.buard@gmail.com

Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package

I have 2 hard drives and sometimes open text files on the second one. As
expected they appear as "recent files" in the File menu.
Unfortunately, every subsequent KWrite launch are delayed while my 2nd
(sleeping) drive spins up.

For faster note taking, KWrite should either not check for the existence of
"recent files" or do this in the background.
