Summary: Search for selected text (Ctrl + H) should include the
clipboard selection (text from other apps)
           Product: kate
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: kwrite
        AssignedTo: kwrite-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: nicolas.brisset eurocopter com

Version: 4.00.71 (KDE 4.0.71 (Alpha1) (using 4.00.71 (KDE 4.0.71 (Alpha1), \
                compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22.18-desktop586-1mdv

I've seen similar requests in bugzilla, but they were not exactly the same. Just \
close this if I've missed a duplicate... I enjoy the recently (KDE4) introduced \
search for selection facility a la nedit (Ctrl + H) in kwrite/kate, but one thing \
that keeps frustrating me is that highlighting text with the mouse elsewhere does not \
set it to be the primary selection, or in any case the text searched for by Ctrl + H. \
One example: I highlight a word in konsole which I want to look for in a document \
opened in kwrite. Ctrl + H does not find it, I have to hit Ctrl + F and paste it, \
which is quite inconvenient (expecially combined with the fact that the previous \
selection is remembered in the find dialog, and it has no clear button). I'd expect \
Ctrl+H to find the text highlighted with the mouse regardless of the application. \
