Summary: word completion: detect filetype and populate word list
with keywords
Product: kate
Version: unspecified
Platform: SuSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kwrite-devel kde org
ReportedBy: bluedzins wp pl
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
( Related report: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154776 )
... so when the user opens an empty file (.h let's say) and start typing
wh|
word/code completion will suggest
wh|ile
The concern already raised is the word completion should be filetype transparent, \
i.e. it know nothing about filetypes. But on the other hand kate knows what filetype \
is --> see highlighting for example. So it would be not maybe a killer productivity \
boost, but nice aid, since for .h files it is almost a guarantee to type
#ifdef X
#define X
#endif
and it is very likely not use any other macros. So why not help another developer by \
feeding word completion with keywords? This way I could type only
#i
#d
#e
in _every_ (!) .h I create (this was just an example of course).
