i may be entirely out of line here, but i've been using kdict here 
for a few months; there's a current version and it's wonderfully well 
done. i'm unfamiliar as to the distinctions between the artistic 
license and the gpl (i know that in one, 12 angels can dance on the 
head of a pin, while in the other it's 15, but i can't remember which 
is which), but i've long wondered why it's not part of the kde 
distribution, either in koffice or in kdebase or kdenetwork. but it 
seems as if this might plug into kword nicely as both dictionary and 
thesaurus.

this may have nothing at all to do with what you're talking about, so 
i'll shut up now.
