Hi
In the last 2 weeks Ulrich and I wroked on the new kformula library
(it is in CVS/koffice/lib/kformula2).

We currently implemented:
-Formula elements implemented[1]: Root,Matrix,Text(std,operator,numbers),
 Integral,Sum,Product,Fraction,4 postion indexes
-Undo/redo support.
-Save/load in XML using QDomXXX classes
-Keyboard navigation/selection,mouse selection

[1]: Artwork is still "ugly".

Our todo list for next days is:
-copy/cut/paste
-Global formula settings (for fonts, color etc)
-better artwork, fonts etc. [NEED help for this!!]

You can test the library compiling the test program (make kformulatest).

I'm planning to port koffice/kformula to this library, i.e. remove all the
XxxxElement stuf from kformula and use the kformula2 library.

I know some one worked on October on kformula. If you have no problem with
this I'm going to move old kformula somewhere and port it to new
libkformula2. (I don't know where to put the old code, right now there are
2 directory "old" and "notsoold", where I put it ? betweenoldandnew ? or
can I simply remove all this stuff (CVS will keep a copy ..) )

Actually the kformula2 library provides 2 classes for external(kword etc)
use:
-KFormulaContainer the document.
-KFormulaWidget a view.

If you need something "special" to insert the formulas in KSpread/KWord
let's know what you need asap.

Bye
Andrea
