Well, not really a problem taken into account that such a function would need 
to go online anyway.

Also google does offer such services only for registered users what means, 
someone who likes to use that functionality needs to have a 
google-account :-/

An alternate may to use yahoo here. Even if they don't sponsor a summer of 
code :-/ , they seem to have better technical conditions;
