That's the way it's supposed to work (like in any other WP).
If you want to type text at arbitrary locations, use text frames.
Or, more dirty solution, insert newlines and spaces/tabs.

Any backtrace ? How to reproduce this ?
"Repeatedly" ? Do you save or do you cancel saving ?

It improves the printer support and the mimetype detection. Nothing related.
