The KDE style guide specifies both a Close and a Quit.
See
http://developer.kde.org/documentation/standards/kde/style/menus/file.html

( Last week I announced this version and asked for feedback,
especially from people working on koffice. I have got one reaction
so far from Werner Trobin who seemed to like it)

In developer terms: "Close" basically closes the document but not the
window and "Quit" closes the document and the window.

Cheers,
Waldo
