The KDE style guide specifies both a Close and a Quit. See http://developer.kde.org/documentation/standards/kde/style/menus/file.html ( Last week I announced this version and asked for feedback, especially from people working on koffice. I have got one reaction so far from Werner Trobin who seemed to like it) In developer terms: "Close" basically closes the document but not the window and "Quit" closes the document and the window.
