Thats easy if presentation view is independent of the "slide manager"
AFAIK, up to now there is no dcop call "qimage getPreview(slide, xdim,ydim)" 
which could help to script such a controller box via e.g. kommander

BTW, another kind of controller is easy to implement. You can control you 
presentation with an ir remote control and LIRC-enabled kpresenter.
