I think it should be possible to use the pamphlet-printer-filter.
I use this filter like this:
I have a Din A4 printer, so the pages of my pamphlet will be Din A5. So I
change the document layout to Din A5 and simply wite my texts und insert
the pictures and everything for every page from the first to the last.
When I'm finished then I use the pamphlet printer filter to get the pages
in the correct order. After that I can print first the odd pages and then
the even pages. Voila! Heres my pamphelt.
I hope this workaround helps you.

Greetings,
  Sven
