I don't think it is posible, or in fact, easy (everything is posible).
I knew something about KDE working on cygwin but I bet is totally unusable, 
specially for children.
What I think that would be better here if the documents stop depending in one 
application. I would like to see an open standard for text documents, based 
in XML and that Word application uses that (I think OpenOffice and KWord and 
other open source applications would be the first one to implement it), but 
it seems there's no much cooperation in this field, am I wrong ?
