Have a look at http://kde-cygwin.sourceforge.net. They have not compiled
KOffice, but have base KDE2 plus kdepim and kdevelop working.
Anyway I am not sure that this would be good idea as a platform for
children. Perhaps better would be to use a live cd linux (such as Knoppix,
or Suse Live CD) - children could boot their home PC with it, and have
exactly the same environment as in school.
