That's just a harmless warning, in itself.
But it means the application exits very soon.
What's strange is that you don't get any other message from it.
I thought the only case for this to happen was old koffice-1.1 libs installed.
If you did remove them all, then the problem might be the prefix....
You have KDE3 in /usr, and you used no arguments to "configure" for koffice?
Try running "kbuildsycoca" ?

Mount the iso locally, extract everything from it onto a (big)
hard disk partition, then use the "from hard disk" installation
=> no need to write a CD.
