The two situations that I cannot seem to get to work are:

1). Default size for documents that are coming in form a filter (i.e.
MSWord) When I open a document with a .doc it defaults to A4. This is the
one I have to be the most careful about. When I print them the first few
lines are missing due to the page size difference.

More Detail ==> I have associated .doc with KWord and from KMail
whenever I open a .doc I have to switch the paper size to letter before
printing. (Is this a WvWare setting I am missing?)

2). When I start with an empty document it defaults to A4.

Starting a document fom a template works great, no problems there :-)

Any documents that I create, maintain the correct paper setting no problems
there :-)

These are NOT big issues and I don't want to create a long thread about it I
was just curious as to whether or not there was a way to make Letter the
default format.

I was thinking that there would be a locale setting, an *rc setting for each
application, or that somehow the office apps would grab the default printer
and look at the default paper size and use that. I have not been able to
find any of these.

Anyway let me express my sincere appreciation for all of the hard work that
everyone is doing. I hope that this only proves that I am using KDE/Koffice
every day and have nothing better to complain about then this. Great Work :-)

P.S. As a side note (thread) I saw that someone had complained about not
having footnotes automatically generated (MACRO'd, scripted, whatever) in
KWord. Is anyone taking on that issue?

Kindest Regards,

Joshua Johnson
