Well, we'd simply have to change the default value of "automatically 
sign messages with PGP" from false to true. As the value of this option 
is ignored (the sign action is disabled) if the user didn't define a 
PGP User Identity in his KMail Identities, it wouldn't cause any 
problems if we'd enable this option by default.

Well, mailing list messages will always be unencrypted (unless we 
decide to use an encrypting mailman). BTW, is there already some 
mailing list software which supports encrypted mailing lists, i.e. you 
send a message to the mailing list which you encrypt with the mailing 
list's key and then the mailing list software forwards this message 
encrypted with each recipients key individually to each of the 
subscribers?
