Subject: KMail and Konqueror can't talk to klauncher
From: bablokb@gmx.de

Package: kmail
Version: KDE 2.0.1
Severity: normal
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: 2.4.0

There have been a few reports of konqi not being able to talk to klauncher. This \
happens, when the hostname changes between KDE startup and an action in kmail/konqi \
(like requesting an url). With a dialup internet connection, it is sometimes \
necessary to configure the hostname (kppp has such an option) from the \
dialup-provider.

My mailprovider does not accept mails on his smtp-server, if he cannot identify my \
hostname - so I must allow kppp to reconfigure it. But then kmail and konqi are \
unusable.

In fact, once the hostname has changed, there is no chance to start any programs from \
the panel (starting them from the commandline still works).
