Open up your inbox in a text editor, cur off the end dozen messages or so, 
save them in a different file in your ~/Mail directory.

With any luck you should have removed the problematic file from your inbox. 
You also should be able to select the new folder and scroll through the 
messages until you find the troublesome mail.
