Summary: Automatically append signature preference change does
not "save" until restart
Product: kmail
Version: 1.8.2
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kmail-devel kde org
ReportedBy: brett realbt com
Version: 1.8.2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package
OS: Linux
In my recent new installation of KMail (from Ubuntu Hoary binaries), attempting to \
change the "Automatically append signature" option does not "save" until KMail is \
restarted. This means that when composing new mail, the append signature option \
remains unchanged, and also, when viewing KMail Settings, the state (of the checkbox) \
reverts to the previous change. Once KMail is restarted, the change takes effect, AND \
in the KMail Settings dialogue, the option (checkbox) reflects the correct state. \
Upon further changes to this setting, they take effect immediately for both of the \
above mentioned conditions.
How to Reproduce:
* new KMail installation (no kmailrc, etc.)
* disable "Automatically append signature"
* compose new mail (signature will be appended incorrectly)
* check KMail Settings dialogue -- setting has reverted
* restart KMail
* everything works as normal
Expected Behaviour:
* any changes to this setting will take effect immediately without restart
