Hi,

 I've found the reason why you don't see the hangup: it depends on the font 
you use for Message List. With a lot of fonts (including Arial) it does not 
hang, but as soon as you choose Helvetica (which is the default IIRC) Kmail 
hangs. Be it a Kmail or a QT problem (I think it's the latter), this should 
be fixed for 3.1.
