When I installed my system again after a crash I copied the mail backup to the Mail \
folder, but forgot to do a "chmod -R u+w *" in this dir. Therefore the files were all \
unreadable when I started kmail. kmail started without problems but immediately \
started bombarding me with message boxes that "dir XXX is not readable". 

I have quite a lot of dirs (~100) and in the beginning these windows popped up quite \
fast, but after message window 60 or so the boxes popped up slower and slower (~5 \
seconds for each). The problem was that my system became completely unusable and I \
also remarked that kmail (after complaining about the last dir) started again with \
the first directory :-(

At this point I tried to kill kmail from the console which worked only partially: the \
kmail process was gone, but message windows still popuped ... :-( Finally I killed \
the Xserver.

I know that this bug does not happen too often and I there might be also a problem \
with the message windows (when the number >60). Anyway thanks a lot for kmail which \
is the best mail client I have ever used!
