For those of us without root access to add plugins globally, we should be
able to have a plugin directory in our ~/.kde that kmail picks up on. Or
rather, I think that was what he was aiming at. For the same reason mozilla
sucks because in order to even add themes, you need write access to
/usr/share/mozilla/themes (or somesuch directory).

And then have to maintain a copy of cvs, and sync in changes, basically a
fork. With a plugin interface, they could track the "official" kde/kmail,
while keeping their changes seperate, easily.
Of course, this is all off-the-cuff, and I'm not offering code so my opinion
isn't worth the bytes used to transmit it :-) But here it is anyways......
