Ave,

we're all aware of the fact that watching big jpeg files is almost 
impossible. I was trying to find a way to solve it but there's a _lot_ 
that would go into this thing. QMovie replacement including. There's no 
way we could properly fix it in time for 3.2. A solution which we might 
consider for 3.2 is completely disabling the HAVE_JPEG defined code in 
khtml for 3.2. The thing is that progressive loading is good if a file 
is rather big and you have a slow connection. In our case if a file is 
big we'll use all available resources and render the machine unusable 
for as long as the image is loading which defeats the whole purpose of 
having progressive loading in the first place.
