When one types backspace to remove text or blank lines nothing happens if the
cursor is positioned beyond the end of a line

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
position cursor beyond the end of the line, and type the back space key

Actual Results:  
no text or blank lines are removed

Expected Results:  
text or blank lines are removed
