Summary: paste does not push the existing text down, but
                    instead merges with it?
           Product: kdevelop
           Version: 4.2.3
          Platform: Unlisted Binaries
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: all editors
        AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs@kdevelop.org
        ReportedBy: johill@lanl.gov

Version: 4.2.3
OS: Linux

The default text edit mode has huge issues with paste. When I paste it does not
push down what is already in the file, but instead merges with it? Very unusual
behavior for a WYSIWYG easy-to-use text editor.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
paste a large block of text

Actual Results:
a large block is somehow merged with the text that is already in the file?

Expected Results:
a block of text that is being inserted into the file by a paste operation
should push the existing lines down. I am very surprised to find preexisting
code somehow inside of the block of text that I am pasting after the paste is
completed?

is this program widely used?
