I can see them perfectly.

I'm using Adobe Helvetica for sans and serif fonts and ETL Fixed for fixed 
fonts in KDE.

Hi,

using the same font everywhere doesn't seem to help. Actually, I wouldn't
 have expected it to make a difference since both fonts contain the correct
 characters and sometimes the subject lines are displayed correctly in the
 list pane.
