Hi Andreas

I don't see this behavior. But check the source code of your message with 
View->See message code (Ansicht->Nachrichtencode ansehen). There should be in 
the header a line like

Subject: =?iso-8859-1?Q?Der beste Weg den w=FCrdige Gehalt zu haben.?=

My Kmail does interpret this correctly. If the encoding sequence is missing, 
it is a problem of the sender or his mail client.
