Hmm,
that might actually be part of it.
I was running a twinview system for a while (2 monitos at 1280x1024 giving
me an effective desktop of 2560x1024) and memory usage was worse then.
But since then I changed NVdrivers to a new release, installed kdelib2.1.2
as well as a bunch of patches and much more, so it's hard to tell.
The twinview card is now used by a coworker who also runs KDE,Ill have to
check her memory usage ..

Funnily enough a twinview machine with only KDM running (and a nice jpeg as
background smeared out over 2560x1024) gives.
