agreed entirely. there is the matter of koffice (which, by the way,
if anyone here hasn't followed, is incredible even now -- look at the
screenshots on the koffice site), which i know reg and the crew want
to have really solid before release. it's as different from the
little pieces we compiled last fall as soccer is from fishing. i do
worry that in the excitement over 2.0, 1.whatever will get lost in
the shuffle, and with it some of kde's momentum. i was really happy
to see that there will be new tarballs for testing, because that
greatly increases the number of people who will test. then again, i
think the changes are such that the 1.x release ought to be 1.2 --
not just the artwork but the improvements in a lot of things. the
changes in kmail alone are remarkable.

so i suppose i'm biased a little in favor of the next release.
