You said yourself it is adjustable :-) I think Kate style is better
because you can remember visually where to click -- and the button
won't move. Not true for amarok (one button more and everything will
change).

Of course. But there is a problem with meaningless in this icon-only
approach.

It would be good to unify this, but I think that all those styles are
pretty bad -- there is problem with reading/understanding.
I see no good alternative for it though, I know only this with
buttons organized in stack. When you click one button, all buttons
below it goes down, so when you want to use one of them you have to
go to the bottom of the window. Visually ok, but a lot of using
mouse.
Anyway, this is a place for someone to invent some way of
communicate with readable, yet functional style.
