IMHO unecessary, and it would cause incompatibility with all the user 
documentation out there. 

i'd just suggest that we provide a default view that keeps users closest to 
their data (like we do now by defaulting to $HOME, but extend that concept 
some) and interfaces for the nasty times someone does have to go spelunking 
(e.g. fonts:/)
