That would be great... As long as the implementation is not as unintelligent 
as in OS X, where the current application is responsible for drawing the menu 
bar, including the system menu. Which means that if the application hangs,
you cannot access the force quit menu entry, but have to cycle to another 
application to make the system menu function again.

On the other hand, apart from some trifling layout problems, I'm completely 
satisfied with the menu applet in Kicker for my personal use.
