but eventually ... like you said, helping each other learn the principles and 
mechanisms will give us more people who are qualified to do the work that 
needs to be done. the Guidelines will become something of a textbook for us 
to study, for example =) and the work done via openusability.org with KDE 
developers is also valuable as an educational resource, including for the 
usability experts who may not be in tune with the needs of developers.

heh... yes i do.. we also managed to improve kmessagebox a bit in the 
process... =)

the other side of the coin is this: some people just don't listen. 

i communicated quite clearly several times when it came to the guidelines 
issue. some individuals just didn't care to read, comprehend and cooperate. i 
don't know what can be done in those situations. if you have suggestions, i'm 
all ears.
