As much as this discussion is interesting, I've created a forum for open
speech on the issue, because I truly believe this can be the
make-or-break thing that pushes Linux-and-KDE-or-GNOME-but-finally-OSS
on the desktop, or kills it.

(I don't want this to be interpreted as a spam mail.  I'm trying to take
advantage of what seems a lot of good momentum in a topic which may be
off-list for kde-devel or kde-usability.)

We have a mailing list and a Web site - I would have liked to make it
into a Wiki but truly, I couldn't find one that was easy enough to
deploy and manage as the one set there.

KDE-related discussion of this is also welcome.  We're building desktop
platform-agnostic software).
