Right. It also has the potential to aggravate users who (like me) are 
satisfied of the integration, and would rather see more of that. What I'd 
like is work to make it more usable as a file manager/viewer.
I already use it for the web and for searching files visually (that is, when I 
need to find a file by its look) for I prefer bash for general file 
management. In this sense "specialised" views have to improve, not removed as 
often suggested. I use the Cervisia part quite often, and the various "du" 
modes are impressive too, alhtough currently they don't perform too well...
Integrated a (very simple, that is basic, nothing fancy) photo album 
functionality, as described in the TODO since 3.0, is mostly what I 
personally am still missing.

As for the problems for mantainment, well, I think who most feels the urge to 
have a separate browser, could as well start coding it on kdenonbeta. I'm 
sure that if the resulting program is found useful and ready, it will be 
shipped with the upcoming KDE versions. This has also the advantage that it 
could be shipped separately in the possibly long time until next KDE release.
