I agree that devices ought to be in the Open/Save dialogues. In fact, it makes 
sense that one could specify a list of active/used ioslaves to be in all 
dialogues, so that those who also set-up others can use them too.

This could be integrated with the "copy to" option in the KDE context menus. I 
don't know the status of this entry in CVS, but it would surely be trivial to 
add the active/used ioslaves in that menu alongside home, root, etc. Then 
you'd have the functionality of "send to -> floppy".
